Sterling Village is committed to the health of our elders, our employees and the community we serve. We are monitoring the rapidly changing events related to COVID-19 and implementing suggested processes.

This is an emerging, rapidly evolving situation. The risk may change daily. Sterling Village is partnering with local health officials to monitor and evaluate this situation.  We are following all suggestions regarding enhanced infection control processes, visitors, elder activities and interactions, and staff.

Currently we are limiting access of visitors unless medically necessary or related to end-of-life situations.  All other visits to the community must be rescheduled.

If your visit meets this exception, you should:
  • Expect to answer a questionnaire about your health status and known exposure risk.
  • Have your temperature taken.
  • Wash hands with soap and warm water for 20 seconds, rubbing palms together, cleaning between fingers and the backs of hands.
  • Utilize hand sanitation stations prior to entering and upon leaving resident rooms.
  • Limit movement within the community to your resident’s room or your contact’s office
  • Limit physical contact with the resident – no hugging, kissing or hand-shaking – and remain 6 feet apart
  • Report to the community any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or acute illness within 14 days after visiting the community
In most cases, families should communicate with their loved one via telephone, email or other electronic methods.  Our staff are dedicated to helping families stay connected and in communication as frequently as possible.

If you have specific questions about your loved one or visits, please call Sterling Village at (620) 278-3651.

For more information on the virus, timely updates are available from Kansas health department (www.kdheks.gov) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov).
